I always figured if I owned a pub I'd float my machines to £200. Provides a certain protection against shenanigans and is otherwise unlikely to go empty. And if someone did get a big win then refill it to get the notey back on.

You'll find some machines pay £5 at a time and don't pay notes. It's just how it's been configured. Doesn't mean anything.
