Have you tried swapping the reels yet? This must be your first step, as it enables you to identify whether the fault is with the reel itself, or whether there's a problem with the signals getting to that particular location.

On the top glass, you will see a blanking plate, which is where the NA fits. It is held in place from behind by 4 x nuts, and in close proximity to it, you will hopefully see the wiring harness different note acceptors. It should have different connectors on, enabling different NAs to be used. The N...

On the assumption you have the Bellfruit version, I would recomend an NV10, which simply connected directly to a pre-installed wiring harnes. You will have to set the BNV code though, which is detailed in the manual.

Can you advise whether or not the reels start to spin when the machine goes through the initialising process? 2.1 and 2.3 would suugest that reels 1 and 3 are faulty, but it is highly unlikely that 2 x reels have failed simultaneously, which makes me think the fault lies elsewhere. Anyway, do they s...

When swapping the reels, you must also swap the connections ~ simply pull the wires off each of the reels, and push them back onto the new reel. This should aid diagnosis, and make the need for an enginerr much less likely, once the results are known.

Not familiar with this particular machine, but suggest you check to see if your coin mech is fed from a fused mech-board, as some of the older machines had a seperate one altogether, and sometimes, if the fuses themselves have not blown, the connections there can get a little "loose". Assu...

Swap reel 1 with that of reel 3, and see if the fault moves to position 3. If so, then the reel itself is faulty. If not, then the fault must lie elsewhere.

On some Barcrest based machines, there's sometimes an additional "hidden button" tucked down behind the reels, quite low down, usually towards the hopper, which will also need to be operated.
Hope that helps

Hi Tom, A note acceptor can be fitted on the left hand of the payout tray, and inserted notes get fed down into a metal vault. The MPU5 can be fitted with a vast selection of note acceptors such as Luminars and JCMs, but by far and away the best, are the innovative technology acceptors in terms of a...

I may contradict Johnny here, but you've said that it's currently on 25p per play, but what is the jackpot currently set at? If it's a club machine, the lowest you'll be able to change it to will be a £75 jackpot, with perhaps a 5p play.

Sounds like a meter fault, but I'd also be inclined to look very carefully at the PSU, as the fuseholders (not the fuses) are very prone to breakage on this particular unit.

Unless your machine is quite old, pre mpu5, then I can't see why you would need to remove reels 1 & 2 in order to get to the 3rd. You should simply be able to lift the reel up out, and completely out if required, to access the bulbs. Be careful not to break the holders though, as these generally...
