Fulham is one of the half dozen or so left although even it used to have 2 machines. I think you're misremembering what you read in that magazine. One letter was about fruit machines cluttering up the place which Tim Martin appeared to agree with. Another letter was from a customer who missed the (r...

Paragons please disappear.. I know you don't live in London but your wish has been granted here at least. Unfortunately Paragons are not being replaced by games nets. .. or any other SWP. There are barely any quiz machines left in wetherspoons from zones 1 to 3. I reckon half a dozen at best over d...

There's an interesting update on the games warehouse site. Got the air of a Hail Mary to it but interesting anyway.

I cannot understand why the SWP world has been so tightly regulated compared to the AWP world Cant agree with you here. Until very recently there was no duty payable on quiz machines and no one bothered to check whether they contained genuine skill games or not. Unlike AWPs, there are still no rest...

Like others in here I am essentially an ex player nowadays. I get more enjoyment reading and re-reading threads on this forum than I do from playing. I find too many modern games take too long for too little reward. I'd prefer shorter quicker games with a higher percentage payout. Pints make prizes ...

Reminds me of Twickenham, just a bit brighter?
The thing is, even the ledges in some wetherspoons have numbers on them so that encourages people to sit there even when the place is dead.

Having seen so many of these removed (eventually) I reckon it's because they have ran out of credits and the operators have no intention of renewing the "dongle"

Yeah I can see Quiz Party floating on the stock exchange for £5b in a couple of years and the likes of you playing celebrities like Simon Cowell heads up for millions! Quiz playing would be popular and cool and you'd have eric cantona helping with the advertising, pretending to be a quizer! ;) Lol ...

These seem to be proliferating, and the more I see them, the more I see an industry circling the drain. Nobody is going to get excited about having Beat the Landlord and Battleships in their pub, and there's your vicious circle of falling takings, fewer machines, less investment...repeat till dead....

Yeah I would agree with most of the above. Pubs have changed and pub goers have changed. I don't think there was much the gaming companies could have done about it.

Alright guys, Whilst I have played the quiz machine a few times, I have never tried to make a living from it and was more just for fun. However I recently lost my job and was looking for possible routes to go down, and i recently saw people were able to make a living from Quiz machines. I think I w...

Autumn? No chance. As I've said before if you're just limiting yourself to town centres and primarily 'spoons then yes it does seem to be trickling down from even what it was two years ago in terms of number of machines available within a five minute walk. However one of the perks is always finding...

Considering that "Hopper Empty" sign pops up when you win £4 or something why bother gambling £50 notes for £100 that the machine won't give you? Only real solution is better games with bigger jackpots. But, given that that is clearly not going to happen, the only other solution is to enj...

The problem is that you'd be playing Match of the Day for 10 minutes for 50p while proper gamblers with 50 quid stand behind you waiting to get on the fruit machine screen. If they even wanted to play digital AWPs which they don't appear to. There is one machine like this, and if it has £1 Hex then ...
