This happened to me to a much smaller extent in Edinburgh yesterday. Punter wanted £500 on a dog at 4/1 in what looked a tight race. The staff member phoned head office - whilst he did that I stuck a tenner on it with the other staff member. He got it on - won easy. Just a wee bit more proof to me ...
