Of all the machines I played in my youth, the most memorable was a fantastic 2p'er called Test Pilot by PCP. The local pier had two side by side which had been there since the late 80's. £1 lasted sooo long on this machine... Anyway, back in early 2000 I visited the pier to enquire about buying one ...

Mr McStreak wrote:All I remember was that it wasn't cashbolt, but it was nonetheless immensely entertaining to play, as were all castle games.

Seems to be winning more than it was before though, lol. anyone know how to change the percentage? Glad you got it going! :) I've written you some instructions on how to alter the %age setting but make sure you've replaced the battery first or the setting will just be forgotten again... To change %...

When you say the fuse in the screw holder was fine, did you just check visually or did you check it with a meter? Sometimes they can break but still look OK. It's also possible that the screw-in fuse holder itself is damaged, I've had a couple of them where the upper solder tab just breaks off. Take...

Does the power supply make a quiet humming noise when switched on?

Also, unplug the machine and pull back the rubber boot on the IEC power socket. Make sure that none of the spade connectors have come loose.

That battery needs urgent replacement. To remove it, you need to unsolder it from the board (three legs). aaamusements can sort you out with a new battery. :) The board will work fine without it but will "forget" it's percentage settings when turned off. Do any of the LEDs on the MPS2 come...

Cashbolt was the 10p play game with the LCD from about 1984, wasn't it. You got the bonus and had ten shots at 10p, 20p or a £1 IIRC. You could win a few quid at the £1 a shot. Auto payout at £10. Cash and tokens ? That's the one, but made in 1987. Check out the link I posted, I made some videos of...

Ah, I'm with you now, I misread your post! Get a multimeter and check the continuity of all wires from reel 3 to the MPU. Failing that, go to http://www.fruitemu.co.uk and post there, someone should be able to help you fix the MPU. The forums there are strictly for older machines like yours and ther...

Sounds like the opto tab is missing from reel 3. It keeps spinning because the machine can't work out what position the reel is in. Look at reels 1 & 2 - there should be a small plastic tab somewhere on the rim of the reel drum. It's probably missing on reel 3. If the tab *is* present, just repl...
