I believe that was indeed the meet that I couldn't attend. A real shame as I am still to meet any of the names listed about in real life (although we jostle around a lot on FB, as you do - George you not on there, sir? Seek me out, if so.) In all seriousness, do GW still exist? Their website (the la...

No trouble at all, Muddle. :) Yes, it was a lucky find as was relatively 'tucked' (on the top floor of the Gravesend 'spoons - The Robert Pocock, if anyone is interested). The £1 on Word Soup was nicely down in the 710 range, but didn't see anything further than that, and I stupidly left myself with...

Hi Muddle, sure. A few of us on here were in touch with representatives from GW and were invited to meet at their head office. Alas, I couldn't make it, but I believe the other chaps did. It was quite a few years back now, but from what I recall contact was made through Fruitchat (I may well be off ...

Remember the Crystal Maze SWP, with the £5 jackpot that got progressively easier the more it was played - but the end game would not let you have it if it wasn't ready (through use of too many silver / not enough gold mechanism)? It is available for play now (30th October entry at the following link...

I wrote between 2,500 and 3,000 (I can't recall exactly now) a good 7 or 8 years ago now. Some of them still pop up now and then in some of the more long-standing games (if you are lucky enough to find them). I did sneak quiet a few of the FruitChat related ones in there too, but I know I was certai...

I was a question-writer for GW at one point and would happily take up that aspect again if you need a database of questions - although obviously there would need to be more than just me as a contributor? As a hobby I also code apps / small games. The bit that I have no idea about at all though, is h...

Stay out of them would be my suggestion. You'll get lured into the 'random' games and that is a slippery, slippery slope!

I think Muddle is on to something here. With the seemingly routine hike in AWP stakes and prizes, the inverse seems (seemed) to be the case with the SWPs. Of course, with higher prizes available, there needs to be a way of ensuring they can't be won time and time again by someone who 'knows their wa...

Word Soup is still on most of the cabinets (not that there are particularly many) around this way (Bexleyheath), but the £1 is usually up at the high 1k+ scores, which even with a board clear is sometimes not available.

The super VIP section keeps it going. Tony from Oxford, Justin Credible and the likes are still ticking over.
