Confessions of a recovering quizaholic: Buy coffee. (£1.09p) Put £1 in machine. Lose on QUIZMASTER round 3. Get close to 'winning' £1 on round 4. Offered another go for 10p. Take offer. Get one normal question and then Dido spoiler. Lose. 40p left in machine. 8p change in pocket. Sheepishly leave pu...

That's all folks!

Good news for anyone working the north of england machines - I'm officially retiring/giving up. It's not going to be easy and I'll sharp find out whether I was addicted to playing them or 'addicted' to making money. Fact is, though I've seen lean periods many times before this feels pretty final. I'...

Unbelievable! I was down in London last weekend and chose Upper Street for my Saturday stroll/quiz. Made very little. If I'd seen that I'd have been in clover.
On the plus side I almost went to Tottenham after for my evening sesh but instead gave up and went back to my mates' house.

Pointless

Why hasn't this been made into a game yet? Would have thought it was tailor-made.

Re: Paris

I don't play huge amounts on quiz machines, play a few games. Just curious about a certain word game that's getting smashed, good game for a few quid. Leaderboard wherever I seem to go includes the name Paris. Anyone on here ? Gotta say they're doing it well !! Probably Paris Hilton. She's over her...

It was kind of dickable if you put the work in.

I'm wondering now if it's sudden disappearance is due to the current test series? Two of their harder categories were Pakistani cricketers and Indian cricketers. I was finally there with the Indian side...just a smidgeon too late.

Hi Just a quick update ............. I have been laid up for the past week in my sick bed - luckily I can check tills / stock / fruities / quizzer all online. The hotwire machine was telling me it had only taken £1 last week - Fat Spanner telephoned me to say they had a problem with the hotwire ser...

the HMRC changes (although for me they seem to have been used as an excuse to hide a multitude of sins) Yes. What I don't understand is that when I read about this HMRC thing I presumed what would be fair would be to stop the randomness of how the game plays to some degree. I mean if you're playing...

Loads! Top Of The Pops - beauty, elegance and a £20 JP. I worked out the pattern in the spoilers so it was financially beneficial. Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - I liked the £1 one on the Itbox. Had plenty of bonuses and decent prizes. Endgame of guessing celebs' ages was less irritating than you'd...

Re: open update

as with other fat spanner games dont expect mega prizes in the end game. 20-30 True or False questions, some of them decidedly a 50/50 guess, to win £3 , and that is if it's in friendly mode - it can get considerably harder. We used to call quiz machines 'triv' (for trivial) machines and, boy, have...

That would be a pity. At the moment I'd wager Games Warehouse has the best machine, certainly since Paragon wimped out and gave us a load of dross propped up by BAM, Pub Quiz and Colour Of Money.

This is why your takings will be down: 1. OddOneOut - complete con. 2. ClassicHangman - complete con. 3. BallsOfSteel - con 4. TalkSportQuiz - ok if you get there before someone else 5. TribalTowers - never bothered 6. MonstersOfRock - could have been a contender but con 7. PubQuizKnockout - ? 8. Ov...
