your machine seems fine to me, your doing everything right. this can happen with some machines, just depends on software. set up to be in a pub no service engineer (prevents machine going empty) as apposed to: arcade software (softer game) Bingo software (harder game with faster streaks) *for gaming...

if the machine is coming up with and Alarm code then it sounds like your top/service door has a double door switch, (one for the door it's self and one for the lock.) check both of these machine wil be in a 'demo mode' (which is what you descibed) if any of the door switches are open. there is also ...
