Also, what has happened to Subz? I've seen plenty of examples on my patch. I accept I am not the target market (although who is?) and I may be missing something obvious but the few times I've tried it I've found it completely impossible to make any sort of score. Sadly as I still haven't seen a sing...

In all seriousness, do GW still exist? Their website (the last time I checked) was extremely out of date and none of the suggested things seemed to have come to fruition? They do still exist, but they now have a shiny new website with lots of pictures of games and a real push towards their Tourname...

Yep, many no doubt do but very few of them will take more than the same floor area (remembering it's not just the table itself but all the space needed around it) filled with drinkers or, more relevantly these days, a few tables with people eating. That's the point I was making - pubs have to balanc...

Can I ask a silly question, why were the SWPs always set around 40% - any historic reason or was it a costing basis? I guess the fundamental reason is that SWP games offer a lot more playing time for each credit, so they need to take a much higher percentage of the stake to be worthwhile. A fruit m...

Will this finally be the death knell?

Unless the companies are prepared to put in the investment required to update all their old machines, will this be the point when we can finally bring down the curtain on our little world?

That's my view. In simple terms, some of what has brought us to this point has been outside the industry's control, most notably: - the reduction in the number of pubs - the change in the nature of many of the pubs that have survived (towards food and away from any form of machine) - the availabilit...

When I follow your link it does indeed show the "you must subscribe" version of the page but then I searched again exactly as I described above and I was again taken to the page I had previously described, with a picture of a fruit machine above a simple survey (the riveting question being...

Good work Sloach. Any chance of cutting and pasting it as the article appears to be for subscribers only or could you give a link where the article is published for all to see? There's nothing too startling in the article but if you do want to read it, search for the article title ("Games mach...

Amazingly just been playing a machine and noticed a riposte from a long time contributor to the site, a Mr Nil Satis who as an option recorded 'stop your moaning!' Evidently he is Frankee to my Eammon (as in Fuck you / FURB). Duet in the pipeline? For once I am stumped as to what you are talking ab...

I don't think people are being deliberately unhelpful but this Forum is mainly read by quiz machine players of various degrees of interest/age/dedication, as opposed to us being operators or owners of the actual machines, so most of us wouldn't have a clue where to start. Speaking thus as a non-expe...

It's not a game I bother with myself but I have always assumed it to be just random - some are worth +2 and some are worth +1. That seems the most likely explanation anyway!

We're on the last rites now I reckon. That's my view too. Things are too far gone by now for there to be any realistic way back. I have seen a minimum 50% machine loss in all of my locations (which cover a reasonably wide area), and in many of the nearby towns that's more like 80-90%, and even 100%...

New game on the Paragons - Subz

Well, not yet but "coming soon": https://twitter.com/GWHL/status/751368409766559744 Apparently the idea now is to think of a plural word, change the "s" at the end to "z" then release a low end arcade game based on the new word. This one looks awfully like an old game I...
