I've only had anything close to that experience once- on a local Gamesnet. I reckon word games (this one had Boggle & Word Up) attract the nutters more than quiz games. It's clear from a distance if you have some idea what you're doing. I've never been back. I travel for my job and most sizeable...

Because it's much easier and hackers like me can grab the money before the best players (e.g. UP & VBOB) get to it

That said, I think Fotherz flatters himself if he thinks that being good at WU automatically makes him more intelligent than someone who is good at quiz games - they are very different skills testing different forms of intelligence and I don't see why one need be more valuable etc. than the other. ...

I agree with fotherz. It makes no sense that the pros didn't bother to learn Word Up It takes a week to learn how to clear, and that's often enough to get 6 or 7 quid, maybe a JP. does this game have isolated pots for each of the three categories or is it centralised? i know nothing about films, next to nothing about pop and only a little about TV so that is the only one i've played. although i dare say it is easy to blunder through at least two rounds on the other subjects....

I can confirm that TE is a very profitable game if you know your films and like the hangman-type games. Even when you win it's somewhat unsatisying though I probably clear the old Word Ups that I come across about 5% of the time, compared to about 70% of GMs. I've JPed WUGM numerous times now just b...
