Yes, but "nibbling" is a fall-back position. It doesn't require much skill to get the tenner when 1 vs 100 is offering it, or to win happy hour on BTL. You're also not going to get rich quick on it either. I don't consider it to be genuine professional activity, due to the limited ability ...

I'm surprised you haven't bumped into any fellow pros recently.I think I've seen 4 others this year.As you mention,'over-fishing' is definitely some of the problem especially if there's scams and emptiers.I am baffled why the companies allow them to last so long,as well as a game being hit by someo...

also, and i'm surprised this hasn't sunk in yet - when alot of pubs don't want a fruit machine (that could easily take a grand a week), why the fuck would they want a quiz? in my opinion quiz machines should be on freeplay or have their payout format revolutionised, eg a win of over a fiver not bei...

I would like to see a Chase v Egghead match, using both formats. Imo Mark is the one who most resembles (in a quizzing sense!) what a good quiz machine pro would do. By that I mean he's very fast (i.e. highly conditioned reflexes and recall) but his knowledge isn't at the same level as Kevin or Pat....

Sounds like Concentration. Who won the [British Golf] Open in 1982 and 1983, answers as above, iirc.

so if you played him 100 heads up all subjects on egg heads you reckon you'd beat him? without knowing you i'd say none of you would get more than 33%. i'd agree he comes across as a bit of a prick, but i would disagree that i) he's shit and ii) not that good! the guy takes it seriously and more pr...

Er, "know not very much", surely.

He's shit. My idea of a quiz nightmare is losing to him. Any format.

when you start getting nervous at collecting any payout over 10 quid and yet I'll happily let the bank go up to 20 quid on Games Nets, Kudos and I Quests and there's rarely a problem on them. The explanation is simple, and one word long. Sceptre. (Although they now are called Regal, and their float...

I just kept going for the hell of it. In any case, such scores are really only a consequence of when it's giving two bonus tiles. 8k+ is easy then if you're fast. In contrast, getting even half that is almost impossible without bonus tiles.

I'm defining 'emptier' here as a method of potting all the cash other than becoming so good at a game that you can keep on winning,or a game not being hard enough in the first place. I do include getting "too good" at a game, because it reduces the game to the point where winning virtuall...

Hmm, possible that a situation might arise in which an enterprising policeman might think of getting CCTV from all nearby pubs with the same machine, and hey presto, same person has been plugging in those bars, and with the same result. That would at least fashion a reasonable inference that there w...

Games back on menus , that rings a key , oops I mean a bell I see that all just falling under an umbrella of pragmatism. Whilst it is great to be able to hold your moral bar a little higher and say that you would never do that, if that could have made you some cash - for the amount of real world ri...

Also, and I don't really care either way, but there do appear to be a a couple of references within the posts to things that involved illegalities (like putting games back on menus)..
