They can't do that any more Cool - regulations state that all advertised prizes must be available in very game. The days of Coinmaster question marks are long gone, as are thankfully the £20 wins that couldn't be won. It's a case of what you see is what you can get these days.....which isn't much.

Haven't been on for a while whilst house is being renovated, so apologies. I vaguely knew Gerry around the mid-90's, more by association than anything else. I used to knock around with a couple of his oppos for a while - Coventry John and Mad Matthew......I think John ma have passed away sadly. Don'...

Ah but they haven't changed the questions. Now is costs me 50p on average to win £10 instead of just costing me 50p. I'm just glad it's back.

I have made some basic errors of judgement which are laughable now in hindsight. Like playing Word Soup once.

My technique in the old days to get punters off machines, particularly those in a group was simply to win them £5 or £10 so they'd fuck off. This only really backfired when they decided I was some sort of wunderkind and that I would help them empty the machine - I'd then claim that the machine had g...

The Chase is out now on Paragon so must exist somewhere. Not all 'official' games as you call them are great. High Stakes is just downright bizarre.

I used to stand behind Suri and do that to him on Pharaoah's when he didn't know who I was. Used to rile him to fuck.

His disillusionment with his current vocation is similar to mine. He went after a BFG question bank which only really existed in quantity on COM, apart from the odd Wacky Races/QI rubbish but let's face it, if it's not on a Paragon you're screwed for locations so he had COM probably all to himself. ...

Beat the Clock was an excellent if somewhat rip off of an earlier game called Every Second Counts. It had a fabulous feature in that you could rack up bonuses and passes until you had 9 of each, then go for the £40. Bastard when you messed it up though and had to start again.

Surely not as in do them when on 64k, which would equate to an empty? The subdivision started about 4k or 8k then. That's 250 questions. On 16k and 32k, yes believable, as I regularly won it on 16k and occasionally on 32. Agreed there are better, and more amusing, stories out there. I know someone ...

There are much better stories about pro quizzers out there than this one. It's quite pathetic actually. What about the first guy to crack Millionaires? or the two guys who lived in the back of a camper van for about 5 years travelling around Britain's coast. The Albanian guy who ended up with his he...

A ton a day is doable if you have a particular game to yourself. Any more than that is down to flukes of thicktown or the desire to play for 12 hours a day, neither of which I have any longer, i.e. I can't be arsed travelling to the back of beyond and I like to be home before 6pm

A rare token of humility from quizmaster who seems to suggest that he is not at the top of the tree . I make a pretty poor living from the machines nowadays but it is easy to confuse income and ability. Paddy spooner was pretty Shit at machines but in the nineties he made a fortune from adders . Th...

Pales insignficance against what? £2k a day? £5k a day? You been spending some time with Redlinesman? LOL I'm extrapolating to be fair. £50 an hour is easily doable for the very best players and it's not as if getting on machines is a problem anymore. I could count the number of players in the coun...
