I'm also Scottish, but my solo record is not very good, partly because I very rarely play solo, and when I do it's usually for big words.angie wrote:Hmmm DMAC is closing in on my Scottish record I see (assuming he's Scottish and VBOB / Fotherz / WORDUP aren't)

Cutting out the prefixes and suffixes for words would be silly. I don't see what's so beautiful about Zeptosecond. I thought you were against contrived foreign words, and some of the more obscure SI prefixes and units fall into that category. It would be easy to invent some even more obscure but technically valid combinations, and then play dictionary lottery to...

This problem was on one of the question sheets for first-year Probability at Cambridge. I remember getting it right, but telling the supervisor that the question was ambiguous because it didn't make it clear that cars are preferable to goats... maybe in Afghanistan or somewhere, goats are more useful.

I wouldn't see a problem with simply saying they must be bonafide students at the time of the registration for the show. What happens after that irrelevant. It's not as if they'll gain any advantage by not being a student by the time of the later rounds or the broadcast. Having said that, HAHAHA GUT...

How much can a professional/serious quizzer make as a yearly salary? And how does this compare to the salary (and additional benefits) he could make, with the talents required to be a top quizzer, in a 'proper' job? Regarding sum up, I guess there are two main reasons it got pulled despite having so...
